Before you read more I want to share with you a little story about a farmer who planted pumpkins.

Once there was a farmer who use to plant pumpkins on his agricultural field. For no reason, he planted a small pumpkin, hanging by the vine into a glass jar.

At the time of harvest, he found that the pumpkin had grown, equivalent only to the shape and size of the jar.

What do you conclude from the story?

Just as the pumpkin could not grow beyond the boundaries prohibiting it, The same holds true in your life too. No matter how hard you try, you cannot perform to your true potential if you have a limited mindset.

If you believe that you can do it, definitely you can. If you believe you cannot, you just can't. The journey to self love and higher self esteem begin from how you feel about yourself. 

You need to feel positive and good within first to prepare yourself for the next big step in your life's journey. In other words if the base is not strong the building will not stand.

#2. Give Yourself The Gift of Time

Treating yourself with dignity and care is one of the best self love exercises you can perform. Say for Instance - If you enjoy singing or playing guitar or whatever you do that makes you feel alive and on top of the world......Just do it no matter how busy you're. Just do what you love doing.

Try to gift at least half and hour from your busy life for your own hobbies and passions

Trust me it will not only help you to improve your self esteem and self confidence, but also keep you happy and amused at work and when you're happy your performance naturally goes up as in that case you work from your heart and mind both.

Note that time flies very fast and by not doing what you love, you're wasting your precious life. It's awesome to work for money and success.

But inner peace and happiness is achieved by doing things that we actually love, things that exist in us naturally, things that make us get up and dance to..........I hope you got the point, so guys start from today and give yourself the gift of time from your own life.

#3. Forgive Yourself on Your Mistakes

You may be wondering it's easy to forgive ourselves because the mistakes are done by us. But that's not true most of the time. 

Most of the times when you commit mistakes whether it's knowingly or unknowingly. You tend to forgive yourself at that instant.

But what happens later is the moment you face the consequences of that mistake you start cursing and blaming yourself which is just not ideal thing to do in my book of self love tips. It will do more harm than good and eventually lower your self esteem and self image in your own eye.

What you must realize is you can learn from your mistakes rather than beating yourselves up over them or falling into a state of paralyzed agony. The best way is to learn from them and commit in your mind not to repeat them again.

Remember it's all about seeking inspiration from your own life and things you do​, make your good and bad experiences and mistakes count for something more better and wonderful in life.

Mistakes are bound to happen as no one is born perfect, what is more significant how you react after committing those mistakes. Note that learning is an art that refines with failure and mistakes you commit.

Now it's up to you to decide whether you want to learn from your mistakes or keep regretting or cursing​?

#4. Read Positive Thoughts and Affirmations Daily

Do you wonder sometimes thinking, I do all the things right still I don't get the desired results and you even curse GOD saying why it happens with me, why me always.

I'll tell the reason behind it. Say for instance you're reading this article now and you found it wonderful.

But will you follow the tips and ideas mentioned here to develop self love for yourself? That's the main question.

Humans have natural tendency of procrastinating and leaving ​things for tomorrow. In the process what you forget is what you learn will stay in your lazy mind only for 24 hrs max and if you do not write it you'll forget.

Same holds true in your life too. ​When you read positive thoughts that help you feel good about yourself, better repeat it daily. Don't procrastinate.

What I mean is when you read them everyday it help you build new light and new hope and you automatically stop cursing GOD and even yourself. It's because reading those positive affirmations motivates you to focus on the brighter side of life and get rid of the negative energy within you.

Trust me this may seem awkward or cheesy initially, but developing the habit will allow the positive thoughts to sink in, and you will begin to believe them, even if you don’t at first.

#4. Follow Your Passion and Be True To Yourself

Do you know that most people give up on their dreams and never live the life they wished. In the end they regret the chances they never took.

​I want to give you a beautiful example to help you understand what it actually means BEING TRUE TO YOURSELF.

Think about your favorite music, the music that that provokes your heart to sing happily. Maybe you love the music because it has some deep connection with your past life.

It's a music that has lot of meaning for, the feeling is so intense that you can’t help but get up and dance to? Probably it's a music that brings up powerful emotions and memories for you?

You just love the music madly. You’re totally in tune with the music and the music is totally in tune with you. It’s a music that leaves you feeling really, really awesome and completely at ease.....

​D you know why you're so much at ease and peace with this music, because you're true to yourself, you're not trying to impress someone and not doing something to please others.

You're following your passion and doing what you feel like doing and it's possible only when you're true to yourself........I hope it's clear now​

#5. Run Your Own Race And Stop Comparing Doing What Others Do

Remember we are all unique and different from one another. We all possess some good and bad qualities. The problem arises when you copy someone else's quality by reflecting and trying to do what they're doing.

You copy them because you start to compare yourself with them, somewhere you believe in your immature mind that what they're doing is VERY COOL.

But what you forget is they're doing because they love doing it and their passion lies in it. What's awesome and successful for them may not be equally awesome and successful for you.

Do what you're good at and revel in it, you're unique in your own sense. Following someone else's passion and quality will not help you gain mastery that's for sure. In stead it will only decrease your self esteem which is again something that does not fall in my book of self love tips.

#6. Help Others Who Cannot Repay Back

The amazing way to improve yourself esteem is by doing something for someone who cannot repay back.

Most of the times you help people in expectation of getting something in return, maybe for promotion​ or securing your job or anything that may improve your life substantially. And it is absolutely OK. We all have the right to think about our own self.

But have you ever thought of people who're less fortunate than you? Think about them too, they may or may not deserve to be at your position. But somewhere their weird and painful circumstances are also responsible for their present life. They deserve the love and help of people like you and me.........Correct me if I am wrong.

So tell me have you ever helped someone desperately in need. I know you have! Tell me how it feels AWESOME RIGHT?

Trust me helping someone without expecting anything in return naturally provides a sense of satisfaction and feels really, really good.

On the other when you do something in return for favor it only coincides with your self esteem and questions your self respect and dignity.​

#7. Don't Try To Show off, It Not a Good Self Love Practice

A quick example to start with

A young executive with lower and poor self-esteem and confidence was promoted but he failed to adjust himself to his new office and position. There was a knock at his door. Just to prove how busy and important his schedule was, he picked up the phone and then asked the visitor to come in.

As the man waited for the executive, the executive continued talking on the phone, nodding and saying, "No problem, I can handle that." After some time he hung up and asked the visitor what he could do for him. The man replied, "Sir, I'm here to connect your phone."

The point is there's no point is showing off. What are you trying to show? What do you want to achieve? Why do you need to lie? Why are you looking for feelings of false importance? Trust me it all arises from lower self esteem and poor self confidence.

Be what you're and do what you can and what you should. Don't try to manipulate things for getting false results. You may find it amazing today, but you will certainly regret tomorrow......MARK MY WORDS.

#8. Avoid Negative Company

Negative people are pain in ass, they're always the part of the problem and never the part of the solution. This are people who will always try to criticize and pull you down.

They are ingrained with negative thoughts in their mind better stay away from them. They are so attuned with finding fault in situations, that they easily ignore the positive side of things.

If you happen to meet one just smile and walk away politely. Never argue as doing this will only degrade your own standard, lower your self esteem and confidence and also pollute your mind.

So if you want to practice self love exercises better make company with good people to let positive thoughts flow in your mind. 

#9. Always Stay Positive And Look For Good in People And Situations

To help you understand better let me share with you a amazing example again.

As a young Scots boy, Andrew Carnegie came to America and started doing odd jobs. He ended up as one of the largest steel manufacturers in the United States.

At one time he had 43 millionaires working for him. Several decades ago, a million dollars used to be a lot of money; even today it is a lot of money. Someone asked Mr. Carnegie how he dealt with people? Andrew Carnegie replied, "Dealing with people is like digging gold: When you go digging for an ounce of gold, you have to move tons of dirt to get an ounce of gold. But when you go digging, you don't go looking for the dirt, you go looking for the gold

What I want to say is it's too easy to focus on the negative, but equally difficult to look for the positive. People with higher self esteem only keep their focus and attention on positive things.

It's just you who need to decide what are you looking for​.

Note that there is something positive in every person and every situation. Sometimes we have to dig deep to look for the positive because it may not be apparent.

Remember when you go looking for gold, you have to move tons of dirt to get to an ounce of gold. But when you go looking, you don't go looking for the dirt, you go looking for the gold.........I hope its clear.
