Headache has become very common issue in the day to day busy life style. Headache can be caused due to many reasons and health related problems. But one of the most common causes of headache is stress. Though stress is not directly related to headache, still it has very important role to play in aggravating your headache. Stress can make you feel tired when you have a packed schedule and tiredness due to stress can cause headache.
One of the most common types of headache is migraine. When you are stressed due to certain demanding situation it affects your body. You are forced to react emotionally and do better in those stress full events. In the process of fighting those events certain chemicals are released in the mind. Those chemicals forces undesirable changes in the body which causes migraine. Note migraine is not caused due to stress but continuous emotional stress can cause headache and later it can turn chronic and get converted into migraine.
It has been proved scientifically that every 8 percent increase in stress can cause headache which gets worse slowly. Stress affects the nervous system which can result in high blood pressure which is also one of the most common causes of chronic headaches also called as tension headache. People who are prone to stress are emotionally more expressive and suffer from frequent tension headache.
Stress can cause headache by increasing tension in muscle. It reduces the release of endorphin in the body which helps in relaxation. It has been found that women are more prone to stress caused by headache as they are more likely to experience stress. It’s not only about working women but women who are housewives also suffer from stress. They have to manage the whole house as they are the source of care and love for their family. 1.Better Sleep
It is important to sleep minimum 7 hrs in night. Poor sleep can make you feel tired and obstruct your daily work schedule. Once your work is affected it will cause more stress in the body. Make a habit of sleeping timely and waking up timely too. Avoid drinking lots of fluid in the night. This way you can reduce up to certain extent.
2.Eat healthy food
Healthy and routine diet pattern is important. Avoid oily and fatty food which increases chance of fat in the body. Eat food that is rich in carbohydrates increase in carbohydrate help in reduction of intensity of headache. Once you start eating carbohydrate rich food you will yourself feel the difference. Vegetables, legumes, dried fruits, cereals, fruits, nuts can be included in your diet this are rich in carbohydrates.
3.Relaxation of mind and body
The best way to reduce stress in the body and mind is by relaxing. Try meditation, deep breathing, do some yoga which is very good to calm down your mind. While doing all this stuffs make sure you are not thinking anything related to your work pressure or personal problems. Just try to concentrate on what you are doing and think of things that make you feel happy. Also listen to some light and slow music it is believed that music can heal souls than why not heal ours. Little bit of all this in daily routine can really make your day. What important is convince your mind to do it on regular basis by making a habit of it.
4.Spend good time with family
It is important to spend good and happy time with family and friends who matters the most. It also proves that you have a healthy relationship and strong connection with your family. Make sure if there is something that is bothering you share it if your partner. Do not keep it buried in your heart express it. It will not only help to release some of the tension but there may be a chance your partner provide a solution for your problem. It’s a fact if you have a good family life than there is great chance that you will have good work life too.
5.Always try to sleep and sit in good posture
While working in office always make sure you are sitting in good posture i.e. sit straight which will keep the neck and head in proper balance. Most of the time headache is caused due to muscle tension in the neck. Keep your face always cheerful and relaxed. Relaxed mind is always a happy mind and when you are happy automatically you are stress free.
No doubt stress can cause headache but you can also avoid it. You just need to make habit of following good things and it takes time to get accustomed to something. But if you want to live a peaceful life all the above steps are important. Note that it will not only help you reduce stress but also prevent many other health related problems. So better make sure you are not only all this stuffs but also following it in your routines.
