  1. Acute Stress

Acute stress is a common type of stress which is experienced very often by individuals. It arises due to pressure in day to day life, recent past our daily demands, work load which is encountered by all of us in our daily life. When you think of the word stress a negative picture comes in your mind, but it is actually not always the same. Acute stress is adventurous and full of thrill and excitement, but overdose of acute stress is exhausting for e.g. if driving a sports car is your passion and suddenly if you get an opportunity to drive one it would be so exciting but after sometime it gets boring as you get exhausted doing the same thing again and again and you will be tempted to end it sooner. The effects of exhaustion is seen on the body in form of acute stress which can lead to headache, emotional distress, dizziness, bloating stomach, anxiety and many other things but the good thing about acute stress is it doesn’t last long. It’s comes with the situation and vanishes in short time, If you compare all the three different types of stress acute stress is very common and experienced by most of us. In most situations acute stress is healthy for mind and body as it prepares your mind and body to deal with future stressful situations. Whereas in some cases acute stress can be unhealthy depending on individual experiences, if someone has bad experience something violence, conflict or life threatening experience than acute stress can be unhealthy and it can even turn into acute stress disorder.

  1. Episodic Stress

When acute stress is experienced frequently it turns into episodic stress. It is very common in people who are aggressive, sensitive to things, short tempered, very anxious and always worried about the situations and very demanding even though the situation doesn’t demand much still they get hyper about it. People suffering from episodic stress are hard to deal with, they cannot maintain a friendly atmosphere for long time and the workplace becomes a very stressful place for them. This kind of people are always in rush full of negative energy and it is because of the continuous experience of acute stress their body seem perpetually in the clutches of acute stress which ultimately turns into episodic stress. The symptoms of episodic stress occurs due to extended arousal, constant headaches, hyper tension and many other problems that contribute to it. In order to cure episodic stress continuous effort and support from family and friends, professional help can also be good option, the sufferers of this type of stress resist change as they are involved so much in their negativity that it becomes extremely difficult for them to come out if and accept the positive changes. But proper help and commitment from family and friends can keep them in the treatment to get recovered.

  1. Chronic Stress

Out of all the three different types of stress, chronic stress is the most severe and its effect on body and mind can be very harmful. Unlike acute stress chronic stress is not adventurous and thrilling. It is emotional stress suffered from prolonged period on which an individual has no control. Prolonged effects of chronic causes can slowly kill the mind and the body. Chronic stress effects individuals mind when he or she is sure of not having any solution to their problems and they don’t see any scope of improvement in their dreadful situations. Chronic stress gets accumulated in the mind over a period of time due to never ending demands and pressures when people are left with no hope such as unhappy relationships with spouse, traumatic experience, wishes and demands not getting fulfilled over a period of time, poverty and many more. As we all understanding that some stressful situations have no end to them but our mind and heart doesn’t seem to accept it. Persistent unacceptance of situations which are not in our control automatically leads to chronic stress which is never ending and in many cases it can turn life threatening and even force the person to commit suicide or harm themselves. If not taken due care chronic stress can lead to severe problems and illness like stroke, mental problems, depression.

A very simple tip I can give is follow your hobbies what you like doing we are so busy in life doing things that we actually don’t like e.g. stressed working hours in office, projects, tension of promotions, money problems and many more things. Why not divert the mind and take some time out to pursue our hobbies. I believe it would really help try it once and tell me how it feels.
